FAQ-Store Policies

Do you deliver? Yes, everything we sell can be delivered to a home or office. Delivery charges are based  on ZIP code. The minimum delivery charge is $40. If a delivery requires 2 people in our judgment the minimum delivery charge is $60. A delivery supervisor will contact you within 24 hours of your purchase to schedule a delivery, except on Friday or Saturday purchases when a delivery supervisor will contact you  the following Monday.

Can you plant what I purchase? Yes, we can plant anything we sell. Each item has it's own planting price. The salespeople will be happy to quote a price for you. There is also a delivery charge in addition     to the planting charge.

What is your store policy on pets? Well-behaved pets are welcome at Echter's. Dogs must be dog-friendly, adult-friendly and child-friendly. Dogs must be on a 6 foot or shorter non-retractable leash for safety reasons. Dog owners/handlers must promptly pick up and dispose of their dogs' waste. If a dog is misbehaving or is being disruptive, the dog and owner will be asked to leave.

What credit cards do you accept? Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

Do you have charge accounts? Not for individuals or families. Businesses with a good credit history can apply to open an account.

Do you have senior discounts? No. We offer all our customers free membership in Echter's Rewards. With the membership card you can receive discounts on hundreds of products every week throughout the store as well as our access to our Greenbucks in March-June and in October-December.

Do you offer quantity discounts? Yes, there are many ways to get quantity discounts. Our computers will normally give you 10% discount if you buy 10 or more of any indoor plant, perennial plant, tree or shrub that is in a #1 pot size or larger (exact same name & size). The same is true of most garden products. Buy your annuals flowers in whole flats (exact same name & size) and you will receive a 5-10% discount. In addition, if you are going to make a single purchase of $500 or more in one plant department ($800 in trees & shrubs), talk to the salesperson about getting a 10% or larger discount on your plants. Though we can't add two discounts together (like sale items), we will always give you the best price for each item.

Fine PrintWhat is your policy for returns? A valid Echterís sales receipt must accompany all returns. Customers may return items that have not been damaged or used in any way, for up to two weeks after the purchase. Rolls of sod may not be returned. We cannot take back holiday or seasonal items after the selling season. Any variations from this policy must have the store manager's approval. Some items like fountains are subject to a restocking fee.

Do you guarantee your plants to live? We guarantee all of our plants to be labeled correctly and free of insects and disease at time of sale. We will replace any tree, shrub, or rose that fails to survive TWO YEARS  from date of purchase. Of course, we cannot honor this warranty when plant has been intentionally abused or neglected. No extended warranties are available for annual or perennial flowers or for indoor plants.                             For details of our warranty click

Do you offer trade discounts? We do to companies that can demonstrate that the sale or use of plants, flowers, or gardening products is their main source of income. Discount levels must be approved and set up in the computer by the acting store manager before any discounts are given. An opening order of $300 or more is requested to set up a customer for discounts. Customers must spend $300 per year minimum to maintain any discount level. Customers who buy more can reach a higher discount level. Current sales tax license numbers must be on file in the customer file or we must charge sales tax.
